Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival

The Goal

Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival is unlike anything else on the festival calendar: three days of rock and metal headliners, a live tattoo convention, and a haunted prison experience set inside the historic Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, OH. With a lineup of 50+ artists and a destination audience spread across the country, organizers needed a promotion strategy that could reach fans of every band on the bill — not just the headliners.

For their 2025 edition, Inkcarceration turned to Bandsintown Pro for Festivals to maximize fan reach and drive ticket sales.

The Impact

From a single Essential Package investment of $1,500, Bandsintown Pro drove over 21,500 ticket clicks, 2,300+ RSVPs, and $13,700 in attributable revenue — a 9X return on ad spend.

The Tactics

Inkcarceration leveraged Bandsintown Pro's Essential Festival Package, which included multiple channels to maximize reach and engagement.


First, the festival received premium visibility on Bandsintown’s app and website, including a verified festival page, verified set listing pages, and featured placements on the homepage and relevant city pages.

To amplify discovery, Bandsintown extended the festival’s reach across major platforms. Set listings were distributed to Spotify, YouTube, Shazam, Google, and Apple—enabling fans to discover the festival while searching for and streaming their favorite artists.


To drive urgency at the right moment, Bandsintown delivered a geo-targeted “Last Chance” email and push alert — reaching followers of every artist on the lineup with a timely reminder to grab their passes before the festival weekend arrived.
